Mentor's Guide
A national PEPA Mentoring Guide has been developed to provide our mentors with an overview of PEPA and guidelines for mentoring before, during and after a PEPA placement. The mentoring guide is divided into three sections:
-
Section A provides a brief overview of mentoring
-
Section B outlines what is expected of a PEPA mentor
-
Section C introduces the PEPA Learning Guide and provides suggestions for how mentors can support the participant’s work through the learning guide and optimise the learning opportunities provided by the placement.
For host sites that will provide placements for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander health workers, there are two supplementary documents available: PEPA Mentor Guidelines and Communication Guidelines. These are available elsewhere on our website.
Online Learning Module for Mentors
An Online Learning Module for Mentors has been developed. The content is based on the PEPA Mentoring Guide (see above) but it also incorporates Quiz Questions throughout for you to test your learning and enables you to track your progress through the module.
To access the Online Learning Module for Mentors contact the PEPA Manager in your state or territory for login details. Once you have your personal login details you can click here to access the module and return to it any time you like. It automatically saves your responses and keeps a track of your progress.
