All health professionals with an interest in palliative care and end of life care
This is a free event – morning tea and lunch will be provided

The day will be facilitated by:

Mr Tom Kirk
 
A skilled Indigenous consultant who has delivered cultural awareness training programs
across Australia since 1993, Tom holds multiple qualifications including: Accredited Cultural
Mediator and Accredited Indigenous Cultural Awareness Facilitator. Tom is an Aboriginal
man of the Gurreng-Gurreng (Western Burnett River District – Qld) and the Birri Gubba
peoples (Burdekin River District - Qld).
 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore aspects of end of life care in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander beliefs and values relating to palliative and end of life care
  • Identify principles of palliative and end of life care
  • Identify how PEPA can help provide increased knowledge about palliative and end of life care amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals
